bohemian homeless people

Helloooo!

So way too long ago a few of my friends and I had a PROFESSIONAL photo shoot because we are so important. No, just kidding, we paid. Struggles. Anyways, lame jokes aside, it was really lovely and a lot of the photos came out well. I am not going to say who's clothing was made by who and all of that shit, because you can find it at Chloe's and Sarah's blogs (respectively chloeakari.blogspot.com and regardingthestars.blogspot.com), because they are way more adamant about blogging. You just come here for some stolen pictures of shoes and missaid jokes.

I am not making any promises about keeping up this blog-- just come back here every fortnight or two to see if I blabbled on about my ability to blabble. Blabble isn't a word.

No , you shall not pass!!

Why the fuck is this so small?

skirts

hello lovelies!!

I am so sorry I haven't blogged since the beginning of february! I have dearly missed blogging-- but I am overly insanely busy and require a certain amount of sleep before I can start doing productive activities. So now that we are in the gross late winter, I have tried to make my outfits a little more interesting. Here are some fun outfits for school or work that bring a little more energy to that disgusting time between Christmas and spring. (More polyvores...after all I'm polivorous...science jokes ftw)

SOOOOOO lets see if I can still do this. I really like this outfit, of course you could modify it to make it more casual a big scarf would be cute with this. But I think an easy way to evoke this stupid ass colorblock trend is to have solid pieces in one color, with a bunch of other printed aspects, it's like color blocking but you can incorporate more neutrals and prints.

I really like this outfit because red reminds me of Christmas. These are all pieces I'm not a huge fan of, but together, I really like it. The boot accents the skirt nicely, and the tied edge of the shirt makes it more casual. I like the red accesories because they are traditional  in an exciting way.

Can't guarantee when my next post'll be, but hope you enjoy!

ladureeeeee!

bonjour mes amies!

So like I have an obsession. With a food. MACARONS!!! They are literally adorable, and they taste like hope and joy and democracy and unicorns and sugary delightfulness. Lots of people think their INSANE prices are well, INSANE but most people do not get my obsession with these cookies. They are so cute. Each time I eat one I complain less about not going to Paris. (#whitegirlproblems yes I know).  But Maison du Laduree has the most famous ones, they are deeeeee-vviiiiiinneeeeeeee cue asshole adjectives. Like seriously though, they come in adorable boxes and I am  just obsessed.

This is an Isaphan or some bullshit name. It tastes like...like um like Jenna Marbles boobs video. It's wonderful, I am watching it right now. (Disclaimer: I am sure her boobs taste gross, I am saying the video, annoying people. OH WAIT NO ONE READS THIS)

Here is the outside ah ma ga sahhhhh cuuuuttteeee

THE FLAVORS! Favorites are: violet, rose, rasberry, orange blossom

rock bottom and more about meeeh

Hello Resident(s),
My name is Arianna Katrina Karanova, I live in New York City. Kidding about the name, not the city. I love every form of art. My favorite is definitely poetry and creative writing, but I also love drawing and painting and photography/cinematography and exotic dancing. Hey, that's an art too. I regard myself as a shy smart-assy bitch who really likes clothing. I take myself way too seriously.

Fashion is my escape from all the bullshit I have to deal with. I love dressing well and thinking about how to dress well. I have a more unique approach to fashion, I just like to put things together so they are visually appealing and emotioanlly appealing. THIS IS FUCKING BORING

So likee I love fashion yadda yadda yadda but I really don't like people. I am sort of done for now, I have hit rock bottom. Not really. But like I took a math test and I am stressed out LALALALALALALA TEENAGE BULLSHIT

Okay well I love you guys even though I have -3 readers!!!

Wish List.

Hey guuuuys!

So like I have hit rock bottom. Only today when some cute Topshop dresses arrived did I feel optimistic about clothing again. There is some really cute stuff out there for like "Early Spring" and shit. This unseasonably warm day has made me want more clothes because warm weather triggers consumerism. So does cold weather. Bad point. I really want to go on a shopping spreeeee! Why did I just say spree?

Kimchi Blue Shoes

These are so fun and comfy. I love big chunky wedges for summer and spring. Even late winter. They are just really adorable and would look great with my new polka dotted dress and a light pink bow for something springy, like a staged tea party for a photoshoot. Also I injured my foot (more to come in my "Rock Bottom" post) so these would be awesome.

Bunny Ring Holders

These are like the most adorable thing ever. I have so many disorganized rings, they would just look so sweet in my bathroom.

This is just the yummiest smelling thing ever. Case closed.

Nanette Lepore Bikini

Forgive the picture with it's hilighted ugly bangles. Look at the rest! This bathing suit is like ugly vintage but clean enough to wear. I think this is sooooocuuutteeeeebrooo.

day to night

Hello Lovelies!!

So dressing for school makes me semi depressed. I love finding ways to make school outfits more exciting. Here are some "day to night" looks, let's pretend that we have super fun fancy parties to go to after school on Fridays and dress like it! (el oh el writing this as I sit at home with a pint of ice cream and some Meryl Streep movies). But this could work really well if you are an actual adult.

Here is an outfit for a day when you want to be comfortable but polished for school and then have a fun edgy cocktail party after school. (haha did I just type that?? IN MAH DREAMZ) But yes. So I really like wearing shirts that are barely transparent with cool bustiers underneath. There are just some preppy chic accesories and these cool high waisted pants you can stay in all day. Then after whatever you have in the morning, you can lose the light sheer layers and put on this really cute sequined crop top. Show off the high waisted top of the pants, add some compact accessories and you're ready to go!
Hereeee is a really cute day dress. You can dress it down and winterize it with some tough boots and cool vintagey accesories. Play up it's femininity for night-- throw on a big furry jacket, tights, and some heels. In this case, I don't mind the black tights and nude heels, it's really fun and flirrrttyy and NYE-y.

Hope you enjoyyyeeeeeeeeeeddd!

it's fucking cold

Heeeello.

So it's really cold where I live. I'm feeling sorta depressed with the weather even though I personally ADORE winter. So as I made my way into todays procrastination ritual (watching Greys Anatomy and writing weird things here) I thought that I would write about how to bring back your summery clothing for winter. Because winter sucks after Christmas.

This one is pretty easy.  I have really missed wearing light colored acid wash jeans this winter. A great way to make them cohesive this season (ew I just sounded like a dick) is to bring out the dark navy areas around the zippers and pockets. I paired these with a cool sheer navy top, navy glitter pumps, and a leather jacket. This is kind of a good low-key NYE inspired thing. You could always go with combat boots and a chunky black cardigan if you want to tone it down. I really like the pearls with the black jacket.
So here is a cute little unassuming floral skirt. I love skirts like this-- they're oddly flattering. Since I only like these tucked in with tank tops, I went with throwing over a cropped mint green sweater. This is a cool twist on a winter classic that will still make you feel more spring-y! I love the soft, bright colors with some cool combat boots and a masculine watch.
Now here are some trendy studded high waisted shorts. These were HUGE this summer (ew once again, sorry for being an asshole). I really like them with a fuzzy cropped sweater and oxford wedges. It makes the look a little warmer and cozier. This is also an example of brown and black looking great together.

So hopefully you will get inspired by these fun looks and try one out. Even though we can't all have a Chanel tote bag or sparkly Christian Louboutins.

Have a magical day.

the art of @R†$¥

"Artsy is as artsy does." -Shakespeare

Haha no that's not Shakespeare.

Artsy-- what a loaded word. I mean the troubles of girls who are already definitely pretty enough but need to long for this indescribable level of cool deemed the mortal name artsy. Like I mean indescribable, I literally cannot describe what artsy is. I tried to tell my freakin mom. I can't explain it.

But as a girl who is not exactly skinny or voluptuous, I cling to artsy. Artsy is a way of making your clothes look cooler. It's just like expressing the mainstream way of expressing your non-mainstream-ness. I dunno, just makes me feel cooler.

So I will break down some templates for an "artsy" outfit. Every type of easy outfit kind of has an easy formulaic aspect.

This is the sort of vintage-y clever way to spin it. I really like going with more a uniquely colored high waisted short, this army green sort of gives you the neutral with irony that makes you think, "huh, she must have dug through a thrift store in London owned by a Japanese woman who was a record player maker and graphic designer."  Always go with ankle boots. They just sort of make things more causual and edgy at the same time. I love the bright nail polish with the darkly colorful shorts and light textured blouse.
Here is the more classic artsy-ish outfit. With the little cute kitty sweater, floral tight skirt, bow, tights, socks, etc. I really like the idea of  a baggier top with tight fitting bottoms. The ring just adds a little detail. It's nice when an outfit surprises you, there are different things to notice sooner or later.

Now this one is definitely my favorite. I think that being ironic or artsy or whatever your little pretentious self wants to call it, is pairing opposites together. This tailored dress with a unique short hem looks oddly ironic even paired with a preppy bow. The little loose blousy cover-up thing makes it a little softer and the tough accesories just put it together.

So this has been an asshole-y post. It has taken me a good hour. Patheticcccc. Well, I like these outfits and I like you.

Keep it classy

finals week clothes-- don't look how you feel!

So at my school I am in the middle of finals weekend. We have a three day week just specified for tests, tests, presentations, and more tests. Three days of horrible-ness. Everyone wears comfy clothes during finals week, but I don't want to look like a slob. Here are some outfits I thought of for this sloppy week. I also have some tips for what to wear. I know this is a little un-fashion-y for my first post, but more to come ladies, more to come!

XOXO

So this is my most comfortable outfit. If you want to just get this over with, go with some light weight, breathable leggings. I love them in a light gray, these Lululemons are nice if it is a little cold, but I really love Abercrombie's tighter sweatpants-like ones. They are really great because they are both soft and comfy, but also a little more polished than plain sweatpants. I paired these with a simple oversized navy cashmere sweater, some chunky socks, ankle boots, and a few key accesories. The cobalt bow makes the blue-gray color scheme pop and the studded ring makes it unique. Put on a shitload of face cream, it'll make you feel more healthy and zenlike for your tests. Basically, this makes you look like you just rolled out of bed looking like a yoga instructor / Kardashian.

Here is my "trying to look normal but slightly failing at it but I'm too cool to care" look. We have the super soft flowy T-shirt to not only hide but feel nice against the rolls of fat you have developed while you eat your "study snacks". The jeans are very stretchy and nice feeling, be careful about wearing jeans for a test. If they are too hot or think, they will make you feel horrible. Go with some light weight soft ones. Key ideas are LIGHT WEIGHT and SOFT. The sweater is very cozy and works perfectly if you are boiling hot one place, freezing in another. The watch finishes off the pop of color and the beanie makes you look like a Seattle barista who works nights at an organic farm. The slippers basically just add the chill finals vibe that you would be jealous of if you weren't wearing them.
Okay, you trendy "fashion chicas". Here is my look for people who want to be edgy and try to pull off a statement thing. This cozy tunic top is a great alternative to an ironic, hipster thrifted sweater. It maintains the cool oversized look which makes you look adorably small, but it leaves the itchy heat behind. These awesome leggings will give you the feeling that you are putting effort into your ensemble. I am a huge fan of the shoes, they are super comfortable but they have a heel which looks awesome with leggings. I don't know how you feel about wearing heels to school, I would if I owned these. The colors are all somewhat matchy which works with the pop of pink camisole.

So personally I'd go with the first because I love luxorious textures, but they are all very cute and comfy.

GOOD LUCK study your butts off!

Hey guys!

Hello lovely world.

This would be my FASHION blog. For FASHION. To talk about FASHION, fucktards. I am not going to sit around and talk about getting crazy at parties or being super funny like the deity Tina Fey. This is for fashion/mild complaining. Some of these pictures I will take, some my friends will take, some will be crappy outfit of the days with my iPhone, and there will be a lot of polyvores. But as you read this, dear follower, you will see that I actually kind of know what I'm talking about when it comes to fashion. I love fashion-- always have. Sketching, shopping, styling....yeah that's it. But I love clothes and how they make you feel. I am not trying to brag or shit, I just want to give you really advice or just offer my opinion because I am that bossy bitch who thinks she would be a fantastic blogger.

Ta ta for now, muggles! (Ew I don't read Harry Potter.)
